Harrison Ford brings his signature sense of humour to Glenmorangie’s new campaign

Glenmorangie, the revered Highland distillery, has launched its most ambitious campaign to date, Once Upon a Time in Scotland — starring cinematic legend Harrison Ford, no less. Directed by Australian actor and filmmaker Joel Edgerton, the campaign sees Ford bring his signature wry humour to a series of episodic films that transport viewers to Glenmorangie’s picturesque Highland home. Shot in a deliberately ‘off-script’ style, the films capture Ford’s journey as he immerses himself in the artistry, traditions, and local charm of Scotland’s whisky-making heritage.

Filmed across the breathtaking landscapes of the north-east Highlands, Once Upon a Time in Scotland takes whisky lovers behind the scenes at Glenmorangie’s historic distillery in Tain, the storied 19th-century Ardross Castle, and the dramatic surroundings of Loch Glass. Through candid, lighthearted encounters, Ford bonds with the real Glenmorangie distillery team, navigates Scottish pronunciation, and experiences kilt etiquette — all while savouring the craftsmanship behind each bottle of Glenmorangie whisky.

Lisa Mackenzie, General Manager of Moët Hennessy New Zealand, says, “Collaborating with Harrison Ford has been a dream come true — he is a genuine single malt whisky fan and appreciates the craft that goes into every bottle of Glenmorangie. As a passionate and unique storyteller, he has certainly stamped his distinctive and authentic mark on this campaign.”

To coincide with the campaign launch, Glenmorangie has reimagined their signature single malt The Original, now aged for an additional two years to be a 12 Years Old age statement. After years of experimentation, Glenmorangie’s whisky creators discovered that extending the maturation period from ten to twelve years enhances the original’s signature notes, resulting in a single malt swirling with creamy vanilla, citrus zest, honey, and ripe peach — a richer, creamier, more luscious evolution of its flagship whisky.

The Original 12 Years Old is now available at premium liquor stores across New Zealand — making the perfect gift for whisky aficionados who appreciate depth, craftsmanship, and a touch of Scottish storytelling.
