Established in 1854 by its eponymous founder in Paris, Louis Vuitton began as a luxury trunk-making enterprise renowned for its innovative designs and exceptional craftsmanship. A pioneer in luxury travel, Louis Vuitton revolutionised luggage with its innovative flat-topped trunks. Renowned for durability and style, the brand quickly became a symbol of sophistication. Over time, Louis Vuitton expanded into handbags, accessories, and fashion, cementing its status as a global luxury powerhouse.

In 1997, Marc Jacobs was appointed the first creative director. He introduced the brand’s inaugural ready-to-wear line and initiated collaborations with artists like Stephen Sprouse and Takashi Murakami, blending art with fashion. Following Jacobs, Nicolas Ghesquière took over as the creative director for women’s collections in 2013, infusing modernity while respecting the brand’s heritage. Virgil Abloh was appointed as men’s artistic director in 2018, bringing a fresh, streetwear-inspired perspective until his untimely passing in 2021. In 2023, Pharrell Williams took the helm of men’s collections, adding his multifaceted creative touch. Known for collaborations with Supreme, Jeff Koons, and others, Louis Vuitton seamlessly blends heritage with contemporary culture, maintaining its status as a beacon of luxury and innovation.
